Calum and Amy
Amy & Calum held their outdoor woodland wedding at Yurtshire Eavestone Lake near Ripon in Yorkshire. It was the perfect weather for an outdoor wedding and as the sun streamed through the trees these school sweethearts finally tied the knot.
They met when (Because their surnames are almost identical) they were seated next to each other in class at secondary school. They soon became friends, hanging out and having fun before Calum asked Amy out when they were 14. They have been inseparable ever since and are each others biggest support and adventure partner.
They have a deep love for animals and nature so it was no surprise to anyone that they chose a venue that allowed them to get married surrounded by trees and overlooking nature. Their gorgeous dogs were with them for the weekend and they had the lovely Hazel to make sure they were looked after and comfortable. As it was a hot day they decided not to have them as part of the ceremony but we did fetch them for some photos later once the heat had dipped a bit.
Yurtshire Eavestone Lakes is a stunning location for a wedding, with beautiful yurts dotted all over the site there was plenty of accomodation for the key members of the wedding party. They used a big yurt called The Nest for the meal which was a vegan grazing table and then headed further down the hill to another large yurt for the party where a bar had been set up. Having musical family members entertainment was no issue, the family played and sang and it was really joyful.
I love that they had DIY’d so much of their wedding. Amy made her stunning wedding cake, which in a break from tradition they cut immediately after the ceremony. Their friends Caitlin, Emile and Victoria all helped with set up and getting Amy ready. Kudos to Caitlin for not only doing Amy’s hair but also creating her amazing bouquet.
It really was a perfect chilled out wedding in the most stunning of settings.
