Claire and Jean

Claire and Jean held their DIY relaxed wedding at Chew Valley Weddings. Overlooking the Chew Valley lake, there could not have been a more perfect spot to enjoy a sunny summers day.

I first met Claire and Jean at a wedding fair, I think I was probably the 20th photographer they had talked to there but they were still so lovely and interested in my work.  We clicked pretty quickly and when they told me about their plans I just knew these were my kinda people with my kinda wedding plans.

Their main priority for the day was that everyone else had a lovely time.  They wanted to use their wedding to thank their nearest and dearest who had been huge support to them over some very tough times.  It was all about celebrating love. Of course Claire and Jean were never going to be the stars of their own wedding, not with their lovely sons looking so smart!

They had booked the beautiful Chew Valley Weddings as their venue without even having seen the Tipi up in the flesh, quite the leap of faith! With a strong vision of how they wanted it to look they set about making all the DIY elements to really put their stamp on the place.  Before the big day they sent me pictures of their house absolutely packed with all the handmade wedding goodness and I knew it was going to be amazing.

To entertain the guests they hired the incredibly talented Amelle to act as a human juke box and sing requests, she really was amazing and I loved the stamp she put on all the well known songs….even making me like songs I generally am not keen on lol!

It was everything Claire and Jean planned, relaxed, fun and all about the guests.  Perfect!
