Charlie & Chris

Alternative Peak District Wedding Photography – A couple of weeks ago I had the huge honour of documenting Charlie and Christopher’s very low key and intimate wedding. They were married in Bakewell, in the Peak District surrounded by their immediate families. It was emotional. It’s fair to say that Christopher is not an emotional guy normally (he will tell you that himself) but seeing how beautiful Charlie looked on the morning of the wedding completely undid him….and everyone!

It was a VERY emotional day, tears and smiles all day long.

After the ceremony I stole the happy couple off for some quick shots together before heading to the very quaint Lavender Tea Rooms for high tea. We had a lot of fun exploring the side streets of Bakewell. I think I could have stolen them for the whole day had I been allowed.

I want to say a big thank you to both sides of the family for coping admirably with me snapping away….it’s hard to hide when there are only 14 other people there!

Don’t forget to check out part 2!!

Laura & Jack

Laura and Jack’s wedding was beautiful and super low key wedding. This pair met online and fell in love prompting the lovely Laura to up sticks and move to that there London.

These guys are totally head over heels for each other, you can see it in their faces when they look at each other. Jack is super laid back and this really calms Laura when she’s feeling nervous….I saw that first hand on the wedding day when she was reunited with him.

They really are soul mates and it was an honour to have been part of their intimate wedding day. These guys opted to have a small wedding followed by some food and drinks at a local pub where they could mingle and enjoy time with the people that mean so much to them.

They decided that rather than have a party in the evening they would head to a swanky London hotel for time with their favourite person, each other….these guys are just way too cute!

Thank you Laura and Jack for a wonderful day and to your friends and family for making me feel like part of it all 🙂

Gemma & Nathan

On Monday it was the turn of mine and Wendy Benstead: Costume and Clothing‘s Rock ‘n Roll Bride competition winners Gemma and Nathan to get married.

Firstly, there are a LOT of photo’s here and I’m not even going to apologise. I want you to live through this wedding and feel it in your core like I did. Gemma and Nathan’s ‘Apperley ever after’ was a simple low key affair.

They opted to rent a big house near Glastonbury and invite just 12 guests to share their day with them. They hung out together in the morning, getting their dogs Dynamo and Peanut ready for their day.

They were there together to hug, reassure and enjoy every minute of their day and I for one LOVE that….I think it’s the way forward…..why be separated on the morning of the big day when you are normally together.

People may worry that then the emotions during the ceremony may not be as strong but trust me every one of us in the room felt the emotions that day….in fact I am sure we were all in tears!! After the ceremony we jumped in the minibus and headed home for a delicious cold buffet put together by the family.

I was made to feel every bit part of the family and I would like to thank everyone there for that….I know it must have been tough having a photographer hanging out with you all day!! Gemma and Nathan…..what can I say….it was an honour and I’ll never forget it!!

Final thanks goes to the genius Wendy at Wendy Benstead: Costume and Clothing for making Gemma’s dream dress a reality….she looked absolutely stunning!!

Anna and Mark Got Married ~ A Preview 29.12.14

Here is the super small, super secret wedding of Anna and Mark.

When I first got Anna’s email…..soon after Mark popped the question (at the end of November!!) I knew I had to shoot this wedding. It was everything I love……….low key, personal, unique and a celebration of the love Anna and Mark have for each other.

Joined only by Anna’s children, and a small selection of Anna and Mark’s friends I was really made to feel like part of the group rather than the paparazzi.

They were married in a short civil ceremony in Camden Town Hall before heading in to Camden for a drink and a few photo’s. They then headed off to a tiny restaurant where I sadly had to say goodbye.

Even though I only got to spend a couple of hours with these guys I have totally fallen in love with them. Oh and in case you were wondering…..they have told everyone now so I’m not giving the game away.

Thank you so much Anna and Mark for a wonderful last wedding of 2014…..what a way to finish up!!
