2016……HELL YEAH!!

So it’s that time of year where I take a few moments to reflect on the previous year’s adventures.  When you are in the year you are going from awesome moment to awesome moment with no time to really take everything in so it’s really nice (and a little bit of a big job) to pop this year’s round up together.

Here’s some amazing things I got to see this year…..in no particular order…..

  • A zip lining best man
  • A groom in a gold suit….I shit you not!!
  • An amazing vow renewal in the woods where everybody cried….including me!
  • A groom with leopard print boots….oh and his bride wore leopard print shoes…..Ummmm yes!!
  • The AMAZING work being done by Childreach to rebuild the schools damaged by earthquakes in Nepal.
  • Two incredible tea ceremonies…Chinese weddings rule!!
  • My first ever typhoon in Hong Kong
  • A traditional Nepalese blessing where we were welcomed with open arms in to a families home and got to learn about their culture.
  • Darth vader playing beer pong!!
  • A back to the future Delorean….which if you know me you’ll know I LOVED!
  • A bride popping out to feed her lamb during the reception….as you do!!
  • Two of my couples new addition’s to their family in all their cuteness
  • Shot two incredible shoots with some of the most talented bods in the wedding industry.
  • Had the honour of speaking to 100 (ish) photographers at the SNAP photography festival….it was both terrifying and life changing! Thank you to everyone who turned up to hear me blab on!
  • Two of THE best grooms reactions EVER!!
  • Some excellent moves on the dance floor
  • Beloved pets, beautiful babies and crazy kids!

Plus much much more!!!

I want to say a huge thank you to all the couples who have welcomed me in to their families and lives for that one amazing day.  Because of you I get the honour of doing a job that I love so much and trust me I don’t take this lightly.

I know there’s a lot but I would LOVE it if you took a little look through my gallery by clicking the image below!! (If you spot yourself or someone you know why not even give it a little share!!

Lindsay & Andy

Well what can I say about Lindsay and Andy’s amazing big day? Firstly, after 14 years together, it’s about bloomin’ time! Secondly it was so much fun.

I think it’s fair to say that Lindsay and Andy don’t take themselves too seriously, and I loved that.

We laughed so much on the day and that is what it should be all about. Laughing, having fun, enjoying every minute. Unlike a lot of weddings it actually felt like for a few hours we slowed down time and were really able to absorb everything.

As Ferris once said “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. “ and these guys somehow found time to stop and enjoy. They had a movie theme for their day and included absolute classics, including Lindsay’s favourite So I Married an Axe Murderer. Love it!! Oh and the blue theme…..well the story goes that Lindsay found some amazing Irregular Choice shoes that she just had to wear and everything came from that….well when you find THE shoes….girl you’ve just gotta roll with it. Anyway enough rambling….please take a moment to look through all the sneak peeks….I guarantee they’ll make you smile!

Thank you so much Lindsay and Andy and all of your lovely friends and family who made me feel really wanted and welcomed me with open arms. The only way that I can finish off is just to leave you with some wise words…………… “Be Excellent To Each Other”

Sadie & Aaron

I have no words….this wedding was incredible!  Sadie and Aaron literally tied the knot yesterday at Tretower Castle in Brecon, Wales and it was beautiful. They had my lovely friend Ellie of Alternative Ceremonies Uk conducting their handfasting which was totally unique to them.

They even included their gorgeous son Izaiah which made everyone cry!

Aaron told me his kick ass grooms outfit was inspired was inspired by Jonathan Davis from the band Korn’s attire…..I think he nailed it!!

After the ceremony the guests got to partake in some archery, horseshoe throwing and croquet…..all that we were missing was jousting….but I am not sure I would trust those groomsmen jousting 😉 We even managed to do our own take on the Last Supper.

Sadie and Aaron booked the low key The Muse, Brecon for their party as they wanted a blank canvas space where they could really let their hair down. Sadly I missed the dancing but I can imagine it went down big time!! It was a truly amazing day, full of love (the speeches killed me!!) and I was honoured to be a part of it.

Chrissie & Pete

This was the big day, the day the wonderful Chrissie and Pete said “I will like only your face until one of us dies”. They held their wedding in the land of books, Hay on Wye….simply because they love it there. They chose The Globe to be the base for the day, starting with tea and cake before the ceremony at Booths Books.

Chrissie sported an amazing dress customised by her friend….it was so Chrissie….no other dress could have been better!

These guys utterly adore each other and you can see it pouring out of them like rays of sunshine!! I dare you not to smile looking at these photo’s! Impossible huh!!

I urge you to take a moment to look through these and feel the love…..and if you can….have a little listen to The Lovecats by The Cure as this was their song and it sums up everything about the day!

Be sure to keep an eye on Rock n Roll Bride Magazine for more from this wedding…..

Khui & Nan

KhuiNanAssassynation-10056

Khui and Nan’s wedding was amazing!

I started the morning with a spot of bridal prep in Nan’s parents lovely home. There were a few people there but I was so warmly welcomed and I felt at home very quickly. Nan’s mum stole my heart, she’s only little in stature but man is she big in personality. She even walked me around her beautiful garden.
Khui and Nan opted to marry at the stunning Belair House in Dulwich (yes I did have the theme tune to the The Fresh Prince of Bel Air in my head all day). I’ve never visited this venue before and it won me over. The venue is gorgeous and the staff are so friendly.

After the ‘I do’s!’ Nan changed in to her traditional Chinese robes and they held a tea ceremony. This was my first time shooting one and I absolutely loved it.

We then all headed over to Docklands for a Chinese feast. At this point all the rest of the guests joined so there were over 200 people for Khui and Nan to speak to. I don’t know how they did it but they managed to make it around everybody. During the meal Khui and Nan went around every table and had a toast. So many happy faces and love. AMAZING.

Thank you so much Khui and Nan for allowing me to share your day and for being so fantastic whenever I wanted to steal you for couple shots. Thank you to your family and friends who made myself and Rowan feel so welcome and to the lovely guests on our table who we really enjoyed chatting to during the meal.

More Chinese weddings please…..all smiles, hugs and delicious food!
