Rach & Matt

28th May was a day I have been looking forward to for quite some time. You see…..since Rach and Matt first booked me I have become close friends with Rach. We’ve had super long chats on the phone and it turns out we have a lot in common (I spy a friend for life here!!). I could not wait to see these guys get hitched…..and I got to see it twice. You’ll love this alternative wedding in Birmingham….they made it truly personal to them.

They had a short registry office ceremony first to make it all legal. Original they didn’t think guests would want to come to that part but actually as the planning continued it turned out they did….which shows how loved these guys are.

After that Rach headed back to the hotel for an outfit change and we all headed over to the Birmingham Museum where Matt was greeting guests. Rach and Matt had a sneaky first look and then came in together (after having to sneak past the guests to get upstairs).

I don’t know how to sum this wedding up….other than to say it was an emotional rollercoaster. Soooo many tears from everybody…..and so much love.

Thank you everyone for letting this little camera toting ginger kid hang out with you all day and for making me feel so welcome. Matt, Rach……love you guys!! Have an amazing honeymoon

Bex & Keith

Who on earth gets married on a Monday I hear you ask!! Awesome people like Bex and Keith….that’s who! If I had to sum up today in one word it would be ‘Riot’. I don’t mean there was an angry mob chucking missiles, I mean it was tons of fun and there was a whole riot of colour. I make no apologies for how bright and vibrant these images are…BOOM….colour in your face!! This was a DIY wedding with a difference!!

These guys opted for a low key non-wedding type wedding. No speeches, no first dance…..just lots of love and laughter. Oh and let’s not forget their beautiful kids….they really stole the show. Chase’s breakdancing during the signing of the register had me in stitches!

This wedding truly had it all….including hand painted favours for each guest. Keith’s paintings blew my mind….and somehow he managed to create 100 perfect pictures. That’s dedication.

Thank you so much Bex and Keith for asking me to share you day with you. I had so much fun and I think I’ve made new friends for life….I mean….how many other people actually own a copy of the original Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy radio show!!

Laura & Jack

Laura and Jack’s wedding was beautiful and super low key wedding. This pair met online and fell in love prompting the lovely Laura to up sticks and move to that there London.

These guys are totally head over heels for each other, you can see it in their faces when they look at each other. Jack is super laid back and this really calms Laura when she’s feeling nervous….I saw that first hand on the wedding day when she was reunited with him.

They really are soul mates and it was an honour to have been part of their intimate wedding day. These guys opted to have a small wedding followed by some food and drinks at a local pub where they could mingle and enjoy time with the people that mean so much to them.

They decided that rather than have a party in the evening they would head to a swanky London hotel for time with their favourite person, each other….these guys are just way too cute!

Thank you Laura and Jack for a wonderful day and to your friends and family for making me feel like part of it all 🙂

Alice & Mark

Yesterday was the beautiful Alice and her gorgeous South African fella, Mark’s big day. I always look forward to a wedding where South African’s are involved….they know how to celebrate and this group were no different!

The ceremony took place at the ever stunning Asylum before moving on to Brunswick House for the celebrations….both are truly amazing venues but my favourite place of all was actually Alice’s mum’s house….it was an artistic haven in the city…I could have photographed there all day!

The weather was doing it’s usual crazy thing, from sunny and warm through snow to rain and back again….oddness!! But it did pull itself together for the important outside moments….thank fully!

After the delicious meal Alice and Mark surprised the guests with Mr.B The Gentleman Rhymer who was INCREDIBLE…..now I want to have a party just so I can get him to come and perform some chap hop!

The key thing for Alice and Mark was that their friends and family had a lovely day….and these guys totally nailed the throwing a wedding thing!!

Thank you so much Alice and Mark for a great time and of course to your family and friends for making me and Sam feel so welcome

Emma & Paul

EmmaPaulAssassynation-10033

Emma and Paul had an amazing Victorian Kraken themed wedding at the National Brewery Centre. The centre had specific significance to Emma and Paul because Paul’s dad was a drayman his whole life and I could see what it meant for Paul to be able to include his dad in this way.

I have to say that although I was only there for 5 hours in that time I totally fell in love with Emma and Paul. They are such a loving, caring couple. Paul is the strong silent type while Emma is not quite as silent 😉 in fact Emma is just the most endearing person you could meet. She has a heart of gold and spent the whole day laughing.

You know when your couple are pure diamonds when you hear the speech’s and you could tell how much love people have for these guys from those speech’s and the fact that Emma longest standing friend Natasha travelled all the way from the Philippines to celebrate with them.

During the ceremony Emma’s choir sang beautifully, I love the fact that this is a choir that helps people that might be having a tough time. I can tell that Emma really believes in the choir so I thought I’d also help share her love. You can find them on Facebook by searching for the Wellbeing Community Choir, Birmingham and Solihull

Oh and of course I can’t not mention Emma’s stunning dress….lovingly crafted by my good friend Jo over at The Couture Company Designer wedding gowns…..amazing huh!!

Emma and Paul, thank you for allowing me to be part of your day….any couple who bust in to Rock Lobster for their first dance are my kinda couple!!
